Are you having fun blogging today?

What is the foremost quality that would motivate a blogger to blog consistently?
Is it

• Opportunity to make money?
• The attention the world pays to bloggers?
• Work?
• Fun?

If your answers are anything other than fun, it would be better if you did not start a blog. At least then, you would not need to deal with all the frustration when it comes to writer’s block.

The opportunity to make money using your blog is there, but to achieve any amount worth your while takes dedication and knowledge that covers the domain of your theme and how you market your blog. These elements take time to master and would not be something you would be able to pick up overnight.

If your sole intention is to blog for money, you would be disappointed when your blog does not show results after 3-6 months of consistent blogging and you would give up?

For those that crave attention, the Internet is pretty democratic and often vote with their mouse click, if you do not have interesting and compelling content (we can only read so much about somebody else’s sex life before we get bored), Internet readers will just click (and Stumble) away.

For those that treat blogging solely as work. You would probably not have the passion to do it day in day out. This very much parallels the concept of a day job which you go to and want to get out of.

So what is left? It seems that bloggers that blog because it is a fun thing for them to do, are able to sustain the rate of blogging. In time, these bloggers would then learn how to monetize their blogs and slowly become the likes of the make money online gurus. But first and foremost, the quality that enables them to get to this stage is the fun they have in blogging. So are you having fun today?
