Why bother buying ads from blog owners directly?

Are you using Firefox? If you are you might be familiar with the extension “No Script” or “AdBlock Plus”. These 2 extensions for Firefox helps the person behind the computer surfing the net from having to see Ads from known Ad networks that displays Ad Banners or even Text Links.

The objective of an online advertiser is to take the opportunity of having impressions on a high traffic site so that they can make money online through the offering of products or services. So how is an Advertiser going to overcome this when the take up rate for AdBlock Plus gets higher and higher?

The simple solution to this would be to buy private ads straight from the blog owners themselves rather than going to a known ads network.

How the filter for Adblock plus works is that it would have a blacklist (or if some prefer, using a white list instead) which filters out the inputs from known ad networks, and thus, though you may have paid good money for a high traffic site, the visitors form those blogs may not even see your ads appear as they visit the site.

When an ad is bought straight from the blog owners, what the blog owners does is to add the ads as part of their blog. The ads being content organic to the blog itself will be displayed as the ad filters do not see these as being ads served from an ad network.

And thus the ads will appear on the blog site itself no matter what filters are in place. So advertisers, do look more for private ads sale rather than through ad networks if you are do not want your ads filtered off.
